Bagar, Also known as Baggar
A Small town of Jhunjhunu district of Rajasthan located in historical Shekhawati region of Rajastan. It is on State Highway 8, which connects the district headquarters of Jhunjhunu to the towns of Pilani and Chirawa. Bagar is about 190 km far from the capital of India. Being a part of Shekhawati Region, there is abundance of drinking water and other resources. 

Population

Bagar has a population of 14,648. Males constitute 56% Females constitute 44% of the population Average literacy rate of 70%, higher than the national average of 59.5%(64% of the males and 36% of females literate)14% of the population is under 6 years of age.*As of the 2001 Indian Census, So currently the position is far better.

Well-known families in Bagar include the Birlas, Piramals, Kanodias, Maheshwaris, Rathores, Rungtas, and Shekhawats. All above personalities are known for their philanthropic attitude as well as superb erudition. There are also many residents of Rajput and Brahmin origin. AT present all communities resides here irrespective of there beliefs, that is beauty of this town as well as this country.

Although all festival of all religions are celiberated with full enthusiasm but One of the many different important events in Bagar is the festival of Gangaur, arranged by the Rajput families.

Bagar contains many Havelis (mansions) with frescoes on the walls. Although most of Havelis are deteriorating due to senescence and negligible renovation by caretakers.The Piramal Haveli, one of the mansion still looks young and fascinating currently run by Neemrana Hotels, is also in Bagar

Bagar is known as an education hub (Earlier Chhoti Kaashi).
As the magnanimous persolity like Piramals, Maheshvaris, Rungtas etc. born in this sacred place, they established big schools, colleges and training centre in this place so that every Bagarian can take benefit of it, Due to there constant efforts, Today Bagar is known for better education hub. Although due to rapid development in nearby areas there are lot of other education instutes, still old one are better in terms of quality of education.The growing willingness by villagers to pay for private education has led to the creation of many new schools in recent years. The town population fluctuates with the advent of each academic year.
